The strength you put into others starts from you and overflows to them. Don’t hide behind your inabilities, failures or weaknesses but stretch beyond and reach out to others, this is the right way to solve even the most pressing issue. Although people might find it easier to relate with your weaknesses when you share them but they also want to learn from the confidence you applied to your own problems, it not only helps them but helps you too. So do the greater thing to help others because that’s where your answer lies.

This is a simple truth walking by. No matter what you come across, a problem to tackle, a task to complete, or a will to develop, don’t settle for silence but choose to speak, to keep moving, to recuperate, to fight back, to pray more. Damn all and do the right thing. Don’t hurry out of your peace. Take some time to think before making a decision, follow up immediately with actions and you won’t have to face it again.

* When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balance causes of action you should take, choose the bolder…

William Joseph Slim (British military commander and the 13th Governor-General of Australia.)

Don’t take the easiest route, the safer side or the “shortest cut”; walk through the more challenging path if you really want to be made. Ever admired fame or virtue? Then you are on the right lane. Owning up a challenge when you have easier options requires extra effort, a bold heart and an enlightened mind. It’s actually unusual to go for the tougher, but who says those you admire to be like didn’t do even more.

* Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely

Auguste Rodin (French sculptor considered as the progenitor of modern sculpture)

In other words the only waste is time not experience. You can always recover every time you have spent by learning from it or if it’s a good one, by repeating it in a better ways, just make sure you’re not the same before and after. Recycle your time into experience. Nothing is a waste, our inability to make the best of what ever has already happened makes it so. If you apply this at all times most of your wounds will be turned into wisdom (Oprah Winfrey) and from this wisdom you will find even enough resources to help others. This is how great people developed their calling; they didn’t just cry over their mistakes and waste of time, they sapped strength from it.

* You get the best efforts from others not by lighting a fire beneath them, but by building a fire within…

Vehicles don’t run by the fire lighted on the cabinet but by the ignition of a fuel within. The best help you can render to anybody is to help them see for themselves. Inspire them from within, touch their minds instead of putting them under pressure. The advantage of this is that their stability will be assured, their individual uniqueness will not be cut off and also the tendency to be disloyal will be reduced.

Next time you want to drive someone into action be conscious, do it to the “whole” person, their thoughts, experience, exposure, weakness, strength and so on, touch all not just their body and will.

* A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

John C. Maxwell (Author, Speaker, Leadership expert and Pastor)

images(16).jpg

To lead is not only to see the way but to literally put it on as you would do a cloth, that is to embody and move in that way, this’s the only inspiration followers can relate with because the vision isn’t clear until they can see it on you and see you in it. Don’t introduce that idea or goal till it first consumes you and you become the actual pointer and navigation to it.

* “The best way to predict the future is to invent it”…

Alan Kay (Computer Scientist, Pioneer of Object-oriented programming & Personal Computing)

The truth is that, nothing is waiting for you tomorrow; neither is anything going to just happen without an effort. If you want anything worthwhile then you “must” pay the due necessary. Don’t just imagine, pray or wish the future, be responsible for it. Paint the future with your hands and not your mind. Write something about how you can get that future, tie those things you have written to individual actions. Whenever a “future dream” comes to your mind again convert the thoughts into actions immediately, don’t continue in the pleasure you are getting from imaging and fantasizing rather walk into it consciously and do that every day.

Have you ever learnt anything? Have you ever nodded your head in affirmation to the words or actions of anyone? It might not be because that thing is new to you but by using some relatable terms that person has made it uncomplicated. This is the core of great leaders and they in reality carry this out with their lives. They spend their time, thoughts and resources finding answers, gaining convictions on topics, concepts, theories, cultures, styles, et cetera. By re-inventing and simplifying these things with results, quotes, achievements, books and principles, other can now partake in that new light.

* The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the conviction and the will to carry on…

Not until after what we teach and profess can be seen in the actions of our followers can we say we have led successfully. It’s a test every leader must pass by enlightening and equipping their followers. As a leader in any regard never rest until your followers can do excellently what you have passed to them. Allow them to learn it, practice it, and experience it.
